Prof. Albert C.H. YU, BSc, MSc, PhD

| Company Founder, Chairman and CEO, Professor Albert C. H. Yu is a renowned neuroscientist and bio-entrepreneur. Educated in North America, Professor Yu is the Vice-Director of the Neuroscience Research Institute, Professor of the Department of Neurobiology and also a Professor at the Infectious Disease Center at Peking University. His broad cross-cultural experience base and active involvement in both the academic and business environment has led to the strategic vision behind the success of the HKLife team. Also, with a global network and an expanding base of established contacts in China, Prof. Yu has been an important facilitator of dialogue regarding the development of biotechnology in Asia. |
After receiving his BSc, MSc and PhD from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada, Prof. Yu moved to the University of California at San Francisco and subsequently spent four years at Stanford University and was honored with the status of Visiting Associate Professor. Upon returning to Hong Kong, he joined the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as a faculty member. Prof. Yu has also spent time as a guest professor at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University, visiting professor at The First Military Medical University and visiting investigator at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Over his academic and research career, Prof. Yu has published 3 books and over 200 peer-reviewed scientific articles and conference papers. He is also the co-inventor of numerous technologies with 17 patents granted and others pending. |

Dr. Terence L.T. Lau is the Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of HKLife and oversees day-to-day operations and business development of the company both in Hong Kong and China to maintain our commitment to excellence. Since 1997, he has been the founding member and key executive of two Hong Kong biotechnology companies specializing in DNA-related products and services and has developed and executed a number of biotechnology projects. |

Dr. Lau holds a BSc (Hons) in Animal and Plant Biotechnology from the University of Hong Kong, an MPhil in Biology from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a Ph.D. in Physiology from Peking University, China. Dr. Lau has a Diploma in Marketing from the Hong Kong Institute of Marketing and a wealth of strategic business experience he gained as a member of a multinational company's international marketing team. |

Dr. Lau’s professional, firsthand knowledge in the diagnostic market and well-established connections in the medical industry has attracted frequent consultation from the industry and the media. He has also co-authored numerous publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals in the field of neuroscience and molecular biology. |

Dr. Sonia Y.H. YANG, BSc, PhD

Dr. Yang graduated from the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Science, focusing her PhD research in ecology and evolution. Afterwards, she spent time in a post-doctoral position at Tsinghua University with research in biochemistry and molecular biology. She possesses sound knowledge in molecular genetics, biochemistry, cell biology, molecular ecology, conservation biology and skills in biotechnology and has also mastered knowledge in psychology and education. Sonia is also a member of AOAC, an organization dedicated to excellence in analytical methods. |

Dr. Patrick TAM, PhD, CEng, MIMechE, MIEE
Project Manager and Senior Research Engineer |

Dr. Tam graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a PhD in Control Engineering. As a Chartered Engineer (Engineering Council, UK) by profession, he possesses industrial consultancy and research experience in engineering analysis, mechatronics, and feedback control systems. Prior to joining HKDNA, he was a Visiting Lecturer in Product Mechatronics and Applied Control at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He is now leading the engineering team of the company.
